Forget Me Not - Forget cookies & other data – addons.mozilla.org拡張機能(Forget Me Not - Forget cookies & other data)内蔵の Introduction Tutorial を下記に転載(原文)Please note, that this extension has no access to your Firefox settings, so any cookie settings you make in Firefox itself will be combined with this extension.
So if you configure Firefox to deny all cookies, this extension will have no cookies to work with.
Cleanup Types
You can configure cleanup rules that match certain domain names (host names of a website, like google.com). Possible cleanup types are:
① Never: No cleanup will be performed for domains matching this rule.
② On Startup: Cleanup will run on browser start.
③ On Leave: Cleanup will be run when you leave a domain (by entering a new one into the url-bar or by closing the tab)
④ Instantly: If possible, cookies will be prevented from being set. Otherwise they will be removed almost instantly.
If multiple rules match a domain, the most important rule will be selected. Currently this is defined as: Instantly > On Leave > Never > On Startup.
If no rule matches a domain, the fallback rule will be used.
Valid expressions
● Every hostname (e.g.
http://www.google.com) is a valid expression.
● An asterisk (*) can be used as placeholder for a segment (e.g. *.google.com or
http://www.*.com).
Cookie specific expressions
You can create rules for cookiename and domain combinations.
● Example: cookiename@*.google.com
● cookiename can be any valid cookie name.
● The same rules, as seen above, apply for the domain specific part to the right of the @ sign.
● Cookie specific rules are always preferred over normal rules.
Third party cookies
● When a cookie is set without belonging to a domain which is open in a tab, it is considered a third-party cookie.
● Research is being done to improve this method.
Snooze Mode
With the "Snooze Mode", you can temporarily disable automatic cleanup. Hover the icon for instructions (or click on it if you are on android).
Types of data to clean up
You can choose which data to cleanup:
● Cookies: Normal HTTP cookies. (Flash cookies are covered by "Plugin Data").
● Local Storage and Indexed DB: Websites can store data on your browser to allow certain features or to remember something for the next visit. Sometimes Firefox refers to Indexed DB as "Storage", so if Firefox tells you, that youtube.com uses some MB of Storage, it is probably Indexed DB.
● History: This contains a log of all your website visits.
● Download History: This contains the history of your downloads. Cleaning downloads does not remove the files on your disk.
● Form Data: At some point you might have entered information in (for example) a contact or billing form. Depending on your settings, this might have been saved, so it's easier for you to re-enter these values.
● Passwords: You might have told Firefox to remember certain passwords. Choose this to remove them again.
● Plugin Data: Plugins (not add-ons/web-extensions) like Adobe Flash or Acrobat Reader might store data like Flash cookies or other information & settings.
● Service Workers: Service Workers are a way to allow Websites to be used offline and also help to speed up loading web-apps that make use of this.
● Server Bound Certificates: If you added certificates to allow connections to a server, then this is the option to clear it with.
